About Us​

From our humble beginnings handling seafood in the Selayang Pasar Borong Market since 70’, we’ve transformed our decades of experience to what Kanika is today.

 
Since day one of our inception, Kanika has always been guided by a simple philosophy of providing top quality frozen food. Food is an obsession here at Kanika. The entire experience – from preparation to cooking, from presentation to eating – is one of the greatest pleasures of life. Whether it is slicing cod fish or arranging a gorgeous bowl of ebiko; whether it is frying a breaded shrimp or heating up a sumptuous pastry, we care very much what’s on your plate. Because this is our responsibility; one that we do not take lightly.

 
That is why we go to great lengths to find the best. If you have seen how we fuss over a tiny piece of scallop; if you have heard us debate about the colour of the packaging; if you have seen how we discard food items that barely failed our high standards, you know how seriously we take food.
At Kanika, it is more than just quality frozen food that we take so seriously. Over the years, we have filled millions of plates. But beyond that, we filled homes with laughter, tables with warmth, and souls with happiness.

Our People

Since its inception, our company has expanded its workforce from a mere 20 employees to the current manpower of 100 employees. Our team is well trained and equipped with the know-how and experience in the frozen food industry. All staff members are highly trained to practise proper personal hygiene and food handling skills to meet stringent industry standards.

 

Our Products

Our products range from surimi to fresh and frozen seafood, Japanese food, value-added food items, and western food items such as meat and pastry. We constantly work to ensure customer satisfaction through our products that are easily accessible and safe for consumption. Our products are specially sourced from countries such as USA, Norway, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and many more.

Our Capacity

To keep up with the demand for our products, we have set up one of the largest warehouse capacities of 7,000 metric tonnes of storage space, which is equivalent to about 350 units of 40 feet containers in size. These warehouses are also equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and production equipment to ensure that all the products are kept at the required temperature of -20°C at all times.

Our Logistics

Our strong and experienced fleet of the logistics team, which comprises more than 20 cold trucks, is always well-prepared to meet the customers’ high demands. We strictly comply with the cold chain of supply to ensure that products of top quality reach our valued customers in a timely and efficient manner.
